Navigating Burnout Together

The MIDLIFE RECLAIMED membership is an online community space hosted and facilitated by Shannon Swales, a midlife woman with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, supported by post-graduate education in psychology and personal insights from navigating burnout firsthand. The purpose is to create a secure and supportive environment for individuals actively seeking to connect, learn, and grow from burnout.

Facilitator:

Shannon Swales, your guide and educator at the MIDLIFE RECLAIMED membership. Shannon is a psychology-trained mental health professional. She has studied and worked in the mental health field since 2001. She leads the group, striving for a safe and supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. Her approach is grounded in her values of authenticity, community, compassion, and wisdom. With years of experience in the mental health industry, Shannon has helped individuals recover and grow from burnout. Her guidance is further enriched by her own personal journey through burnout, marked by compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. Shannon is passionate about assisting others gather the knowledge and tools to help them stop the endless cycles of burnout and be able to start creating the life in which they can thrive.

  • Midlife Reclaimed is a membership designed to support individuals experiencing burnout. It provides a platform to connect with others, access focused practices, participate in masterclasses and Q&As, and receive guidance and education from a trained mental health professional. It is a place to arrive to, to focus on you with like minded individuals.

  • Depending on the Membership level purchased your membership may include access to our online community, masterclasses, Q&A sessions, focused practices, and resources, as well as educational guidance from Shannon Swales.

  • Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time. Details on the cancellation process can be found in your membership account settings.

  • Members can connect through our dedicated space, "Members Lounge," as well as chat feeds in the practice, education, and resource areas (depending on your membership level purchased). These platforms provide opportunities to engage with what you're learning, share experiences, and support each other on your journey beyond burnout.

  • While the community is not actively moderated, we expect all members to interact respectfully and supportively, following our terms of use. Members who violate these terms or the acceptable use policy established by Shannon Swales or Mighty Networks will forfeit their membership.   • The masterclasses and associated Q&As are centered on evidence-based practices to foster growth beyond burnout. Topics include Understanding Burnout, Self-Assessment and Awareness, Self-Care Practices, Stress Management, Cognitive Strategies, Emotional Regulation, Workplace Strategies, Social Support and Relationships, Life Balance, Professional Growth, Mindfulness and Reflection, Resilience Building, Behavioral Changes, and Long-Term Prevention Strategies. This is not an exhaustive list and we are open to suggestions with what the members need to help them grow beyond burnout. The master classes and associated Q&As are led by Shannon Swales.

  • Yes, if your membership level includes access to the Library, you will have access to all past master classes, Q&A sessions, practices, and resources.
